API referencev1
Authentication
One header, one base URL, and which credential opens what.
Base URL
https://api.thepulseapi.com/api/v1The header
Authenticate with x-api-key. Not Authorization: Bearer.
curl -X POST "https://api.thepulseapi.com/api/v1/session" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "x-api-key: pk_live_..." \
-d '{}'Getting a key
Sign in to the dashboard, open Integration → API keys, and create one.
| Format | Always pk_live_ followed by base64url randomness |
| Publishable | Designed to be visible in browser code. It can send signals and read rankings, nothing else |
| Scoped | Belongs to one organization and cannot read another's data |
| Shown once | The full value is returned only at creation. Only the hash is stored |
| Revocable | Revocation is immediate |
There is no test key
Every issued key is pk_live_. There is no pk_test_ and no sandbox environment yet. To keep
experiments out of your reporting, create a separate key for development and revoke it when
you are done.
What a publishable key cannot do
Catalogue writes (/products, /categories) authenticate as a signed-in dashboard session, not
with a publishable key. They are not part of this reference.
